Kanyinsola Okafor July 20, 2016 News JOEL BENSON, Nigerian gospel artist and cinematographer who was abducted from his home in Mowe Ibafo, Ogun State, on the 11th 0f July 2016 was released yesterday the 19th of July 2016, to his family. When he was initially kidnapped, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of fifty million Naira for his release; and didn’t back down on the price or threats to not release him should the ransom not be paid. Surprising news hit the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria (FOGMMON) and members of 6Team with the release of Joel Benson yesterday; without payment of the ransom demanded by his captors. Pastor Tosin Martins of FOGMMON, Lagos branch, issued a press release to notify the public of this, and thank them for their support through the whole process. His statement read; “Good evening all, I’m glad to inform you that our brother Joel Benson has been released and has rejoined his family alive, well, ale and hearty. His wife particularly and family expressed gratitude and thank the fellowship for our support. Thank you all and God bless you all for your prayers, contributions and support.” The details surrounding the release of Joel Benson or his health status has not yet been made public.
